About Kepler Education:

Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) discovered the laws of planetary motion that govern how our Solar System peforms its dance through space. With this discovery, Kepler single-handedly changed the way we view science and the universe around us. Inspired by Kepler, we at Kepler Educational Consulting are also committed to changing the way we view science education, as well as inspiring our children to explore new worlds of their own..

Kepler Educational Consulting was founded by Keith Watt, one of the most respected curriculum developers in the country. A former Naval Flight Officer, Keith served during the first Gulf War as a navigator on-board an EC-130Q strategic communications aircraft. While on deployment, he contracted meningitis, which severely damaged his hearing. Keith was medically retired from the Navy in 1991 and began a career as a spacecraft design engineer in the Orbital Mechanics branch of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. While working for NASA, Keith volunteered for NASA's Project LASER (Learning About Science Engineering and Research), and realized the need for the continued improvement in the education of all students in the fields of science and technology. Keith earned a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., along with a K-12 teaching certification with a specialization in science. Keith went on to complete a Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, in astrophysics, working with some of the giants of the field of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.

As both a published scientist and a published educator, Keith brings a unique combination of skills, perspectives, and sense of humor to education. He has championed the belief that every scientist is a teacher and every teacher is a scientist. His motto, "If you aren't having fun, you aren't doing it right!" has served as a guide for his own work as well as that of others he has trained. He has personally worked with thousands of students and teachers from across the country as he shows how to apply research-driven educational principles in a uniquely fun and engaging way.
